Alo coffee
Our first time having Alo Coffee from the award winning Tamiru Tadisse. Tamiru is at the forefront of Ethiopian coffee, experimenting with several specialized processing methods as well as his traditional washed methods all at high altitudes. This is a beautiful washed Ethiopian, fantastically clean, citrusy with white florals and green tea.
With high elevations this Washed Sidama has complexity of Bright Fresh Citrus, Cherry Blossoms, Apricot, Marigold, and Sweet Green Tea.
Alo Coffee was founded by Tamiru Tadesse in 2020 to focus on the production and export of high-quality and competition coffees from Bensa, Sidama. Tamiru, who was born in Bensa, was inspired to start the company after a friend won the Cup of Excellence in 2020. Tamiru's washing station in Alo kebele buys cherry from elevations that until recently—as a result of climate change—had been unable to support the cultivation of coffee.
Bona Zuria Washing Station is one of Ethiopia's most celebrated regions producing high-quality coffee production. Located in the Bensa zone of Sidamo, this station sources cherries from local smallholder farmers, many of whom cultivate coffee on plots averaging five hectares. Thanks to the region's high altitude, traditional farming methods, and diverse heirloom varieties, Bona Zuria has quickly built a reputation for producing exceptional specialty lots. The Bensa Zone shares the same high land terrain as the famed Bombe region.
We suggest letting the coffee rest for 2-3wks.
